The two-day Annual Celebration “Odyssey to Consonance 2018” began with great zest and elation. The function not only showcased the talent of young students from class VI to class XII but also enthralled the audience. The occasion was presided over by Most Rev. Dr. Ignatius. L. Mascarenhas, Bishop of Simla-Chandigarh Diocese. The Guest of Honour on this occasion was Mr. Sandeep Singh Brar, OSD to Chief Minister, Punjab.
The programme commenced with lighting of the ceremonial lamp and invocation of the divine presence. The prayer dance was followed by ‘Poetry of Footsteps’ by students of class VII showcasing an assortment of dances of various countries, depicting metropolitan charm. A play ‘The Awakening’ by class X drew everyone’s attention towards the complicated and complex emotional world of today’s teenagers, who are easy prey to vices in the absence of support system from parents and teachers.
More surprises awaited the audience – the depiction of the five pure elements of creation, the diverse and mystical quality of oneness of India, an international dance conveying the message of human body’s integration through dance steps and a Hindi play ‘Drishtikon Badla Toh Bharat Badlega’ drew attention of the audience towards our country’s present day socio-political discourse. As the Odyssey to Consonance came to an end the audience was enthralled by a thrilling visual treat of Bhangra dance, the flavour of Punjab.
The most memorable moment of the function was marked by precious words of advice and appreciation by the chief guest while addressing parents. He lauded the vision and relentless hard work done by students and their mentors for presenting such a message-oriented programme. Overall, the programme was a real treat to watch and students gave a spectacular performance which spoke of discipline and team spirit of both the teachers and students. The most intriguing aspect embellishing the event was the splendid mass participation of students. The students received accolades from all those who watched the show.The celebrations concluded on a happy note encouraging the students to establish further milestones in their odyssey to success.
