Library Rules

  • Every student must possess his/her Library Card while making use of the library facility.
  • Strict discipline must be maintained in the library.
  • Indiscipline may lead to disciplinary action and library privileges may be withdrawn.
  • One book will be issued against one Reader’s Ticket for a specific number of days only.
  • Reference material should not be taken outside the library.
  • Newspapers and periodicals will not be issued.
  • When books are issued, students should check the pages. If any pages are missing, they must report it to the librarian before leaving the counter.
  • Students are required to handle books and reading material very carefully.
  • Marking library books with pencil or ink, tearing pages, or damaging them in any way will be viewed seriously.
  • In case of damage, the reader will be liable to compensate. The book must be replaced.
  • If a book is not returned on or before the due date, a fine of Rs. 1/- per day will be charged.
  • If a reader loses a book, it must be replaced. If not available, the current price must be paid.
  • The membership card is non-transferable.
  • Students must not lend their Reader’s Ticket to others. Misuse will result in withdrawal of library facilities.
  • The School Leaving Certificate or Transfer Certificate will be issued only after all library books are returned and dues cleared.
  • The Reader’s Ticket must be renewed every year as notified.
  • If a Reader’s Ticket is lost, it must be reported immediately and a duplicate card obtained by paying Rs. 5/-.
Note:

Violation of these rules will lead to disciplinary action against defaulters.
